The Gravity Slate Train is a real showpiece on the Ffestiniog Railway often found during gala days. Whilst ours isn't as long it still gets people talking when they see it.

Anti Gravity up train is usually hauled by a Double Fairlie. Lucky for us we have a few to choose from.  

Originally a standard gauge gang trolley for the LNER, the Ffestiniog Railway’s Wickham Trolley was obtained from BR in 1961 and re-gauged for use on the FR.

In 2022, a project commenced to convert this petrol engined vehicle to battery electric power. Towards the end of the running season in 2025, the Wickham had received further upgrades to its battery electric systems which will see it available to the S&T and Lineside Departments for use for track inspections etc.

It is in this end of 2025 configuration that our model is based. With largely a scratch built body on a Tenshodo motor bogie, this creation, built and painted by Peter Hoyle makes an interesting addition to our fleet.
